I’ve worked in the trades since my adolescent years. From 1991-94 (high school) I was a roofer in suburban Philadelphia during the summers. I was in Fine Arts School from late 94 – 95, and was doing carpentry in the summers. In 1995 I worked on and off for a high end residential painting company and a residential remodeling company in Philadelphia and on the Main Line. In 1999, I moved out west, and worked with a small contractor/finish carpenter in high end residential remodeling. In 2004 I started a residential and light commercial remodeling company in San Francisco with 2 partners and that ran until 2006. From late 2006-2011 I worked as an independent contractor in both the Bay Area and in Southern Oregon where I relocated. In late 2011, I began a new career in small business coaching working for EMyth, and then in 2016 went out on my own expanding my coaching to professional and personal development. In this time, I kept my tools and would do an occassional project. I’m versed in carpentry, framing to finish work, tile work, sheetrock, wooden decks and exteriors, and much more. Additionally, through my career(s), I’ve studied natural building methods, natural plastering, and some timber framing. In 2021 I moved with my wife and daughter to Eastern TN, and I began taking on small projects in the autumn of 2022. I continue coaching 2 days per week, and take on select projects. I understand that it can be challenging to find a committed builder who follows through, keeps their word, and demonstrates high quality workmanship.
